From Our Wines to Your Journey: Discover Italy with Us

There’s a certain moment in Italy that you can’t plan.

It happens when a long lunch turns into the entire afternoon… when a winemaker pulls up a chair and starts telling you stories you were never supposed to hear as a visitor… when you realize no one is in a rush, and somehow, neither are you anymore.

That’s the moment we’ve built these journeys around.

At Above Wines, everything we do has always been about connection—between people, places, and the stories behind every bottle. Bringing wines to your table was just the beginning. Now, we’re inviting you to step into where those stories are born.

Not as a tourist.
But as someone who belongs there.

The Above Wines Way

These experiences were never meant to be “tours” in the traditional sense. There’s no rushing from one place to another, no rigid feeling of needing to check something off a list.

Instead, the days unfold naturally.

You wake up somewhere beautiful. You sit down for breakfast without thinking about what comes next. You get into a car, and suddenly you’re driving through vineyards you’ve only ever heard about. And then you arrive—not at a destination, but at someone’s life’s work.

You’re welcomed in, not as a guest passing through, but as someone who’s meant to be there.

This is the difference.

And throughout it all, you’re accompanied by your Italian guide—not just someone explaining history, but someone translating the culture, opening doors, making introductions, and turning what could feel foreign into something incredibly familiar.

It’s subtle, but it changes everything.

When Italy Is Most Alive

We chose one specific moment in the year for all of our 2026 journeys: harvest season, between September and October.

Because this is when Italy is at its most real.

The vineyards are alive with movement. The air carries the scent of grapes just picked. Conversations are more animated, meals feel more celebratory, and there’s a quiet understanding that everything happening in that moment matters.

This isn’t something you can recreate at any other time of the year.

During vendemmia, you don’t just observe winemaking—you feel part of it. You see the urgency, the care, the emotion behind every decision. And without even realizing it, you start to understand wine in a completely different way.

Not as a product.
But as a living expression of time, place, and people.

A Different Kind of Travel

We’ve kept these journeys intentionally small—just 16 guests—because what we’re creating doesn’t work in large groups.

It works in shared glances across the table.
In spontaneous conversations.
In the kind of laughter that only happens when people feel comfortable enough to slow down.

Somewhere along the way, it stops feeling like a trip.

It starts feeling like you’ve been let in on something.

More Than What’s in the Glass

If you’ve been part of Above Wines for a while, you already know that what we care about goes far beyond what’s inside the bottle.

It’s about where it comes from.
Who made it.
Why it tastes the way it does.

These journeys are simply the next step.

Because once you walk through those vineyards, once you sit at those tables, once you meet the people behind the wines… something shifts.

And when you come back home and open that same bottle again, it won’t just be wine anymore.

It will be a memory.

A Taste of Calabria: Cirò Rosé

And maybe the best way to understand all of this… is to start with a glass.

Our Cirò Rosé, made from the native Gaglioppo grape in Calabria, carries exactly that kind of story.

From the first pour, there’s something unmistakably alive about it. The color alone—bright, vibrant pink—feels like a reflection of the southern sun. Then come the aromas, soft but expressive, with notes of forest fruits and delicate red berries that slowly open up in the glass.

There’s a precision behind it, but also a sense of ease.

The grapes are hand-harvested at the perfect moment, treated gently to preserve their purity, and guided through a careful fermentation that keeps everything fresh, bright, and balanced. Nothing forced. Nothing overdone.

And when you taste it, that philosophy comes through immediately.

It’s lively, clean, refreshing, with just the right acidity to keep it elegant and incredibly drinkable. The kind of wine that doesn’t demand attention—but keeps it effortlessly.

It belongs next to simple, beautiful food. Grilled seafood, fresh vegetables, soft cheeses. But more than that, it belongs in a moment where nothing feels rushed.

Until You’re There

In many ways, this wine is an introduction.

A small glimpse into Calabria. Into harvest season. Into the feeling of sitting somewhere in Italy, surrounded by people, with a glass in your hand and nowhere else to be.

Until you experience it in person.

And when you do… you’ll understand why we created all of this.

Not to show you Italy.
But to let you live it.
